Little Pressie

Today in the post, I received from Sally, a lovely little bag. Now this is no ordinary bag...no this is an Origami bag by Resenthel. It is amazing. Starts off small, and if you need a bigger bag, you just unfold it. Thanks Sally.

Our Anniversary. - Bravissimo

Today is our 15th anniversary :-) and we are going out to celebrate. The choice was left up to me, and we are going to try a place in a village not far from me....we are going Italian. :-)

We are going to La Fontana and even though we have lived here for just over two years we have never tried it...so here goes.

I looked on their website today just to look at the menu and noticed they had a review written in the Telegraph last saturday 15th February. All seems very good.

Luckily for us we didn;t get married in March or later, as Arni would of been off on his travels with Williams F1. He will be travelling now more or less from March until October.

Will give an update tomorrow. xox

UPDATE - The night was fantastic, the food was brilliant..The Wine and Champagne was flowing!!!!

I had Calamaretti - crisp deep fried squid served on a bed of fresh lettuce leaves followed by Risotto con Gamberetti e Scampi alla Provenzale risotto with prawns and scampi in a creamy tomato sauce.

Arni had Pate del Capocuoco chefs own chicken liver and pork pate served with toasted bread followed by Filltto di bue alla Rossini - fillet steak with bacon, mushrooms, onions, red wine and brandy topped with chefs home made pate and mozzarella cheese.

We had no room for dessert, but did round the evening off with a coffee.

It was Superb!!!

Thank You

Just like to say a big thank you to all that have left comments over the last few days...haven;t had time to catch up, to reply to everyone, came back from Cambridge and then straight into work on Tuesday, and have a busy week.

Thank you friends :-)

Sunday with Sally

After a very restful and good nights sleep, Sally cooked us breakfast, Kippers on toast, it was delightful, and just the right start to the day, as we were walking to Grantchester to have a coffee and scone at The Orchard.
I really enjoyed the walk, great company, great weather, what more could you ask for!!! It was hard to find a seat at The Orchard as the brilliant weather had brought people out in droves...but we didn;t give up, and finally there we were, sat with coffee and scone, right in the middle of this beautiful setting...quite surreal for the middle of February.

It was great..my brother also came to join us, which was great, had tea and chat, and then Sally and I made our way back to Cambridge, had a lovely stroll around the sunday market before heading home - well back to Geoff's.

Had a small snack, as we were going out to eat, then Sally gave me a massage!!! It was brilliant, you would never think that Sally was still in training, brilliant. it was so relaxing, in fact, so relaxing, that I nearly wanted to stay in and go to sleep!!! So for all of you that live near Downham Market or Kings Lynn, phone Sally and give her massage a whirl, and then tell all your friends. She will even come to you, if need be. Sally is in Cambridge most weekends, so her area is extended, just phone and ask.

We did make it out and had a great meal at The Varsity Restaurant, we shared a Cyprus Meze, which was delicious.

We had a fantastic weekend, hope its not too long, till the next time. A big Thank You to Geoff..:-)

Our Weekend....Saturday

Sally and I had a fabulous weekend..I arrived in Cambridge and found my way to Geoff's house, where Sally was waiting for me. It was so great to see her, we haven;t seen each other for at least 6 years. It was just as though we had seen each other last month or so..it all just clicked into place. After a cup of coffee and a chat, we headed into Cambridge centre, which is just a walk away, which is fab.

Sally really wanted to go into a shop that she has seen for ages, it is called White Stuff, and in the window was a skirt she really really liked. We just had to go in..it was great..we tried on a few things, and then after much persausion by each other we made our purchases. We said to the guys on the till "quick just put the items through before we change our minds".

We then perused all the shoes shops, and all the other little shops we wanted too, without a male lingering over our shoulders!!You know what it is like ladies :-).

Had a break at Stavinos for coffee and a panino which we shared. and then carried on our shopping. It was great to have a friend with me..and a friend with shared interests.

After all this shopping we made our way home, to a Gin and Tonic or two..had a great meal of Mussels in White Wine sauce, which Sally cooked, it was lush and so easy, so I am going to do it at home..

Sally then planned for us to watch "Atonement", it was excellent and I really enjoyed it..whilst we were watching the film, the sauna was heating up..what a fab way to end our first day!!!! Never been in a sauna, it was brilliant..Thanks Geoff!!

Tomorrow is the start of an....

Exciting weekend. I am off to see Sally , and will be staying at Geoff's in Cambridge.

We are going to have so much fun...Our plan is to Eat, Drink and be Merry!!! We are going to watch a film, hopefully get a walk to Grantchester, no I am not a walker like Sally, but I do walk most days, so hopefully will be alright. Do a bit of shopping, and on top of all that Sally says she is going to treat me to a massage!!!

Sally and I have been through some hard and tough times, in the last few years, and even though we have only seen each other once since we left Raf St Athan,I left in 2000, and a little bit earlier, I know that Sally is always at the end of the phone if I need her, no matter what time it is and vice versa....a great thoughtful friend.

A big thank you to Geoff for the invite :-)....

We are going to have a great time!!!

Oh I just realized this is my 100th post...Wow, I made it, surprised myself. :-)

My Gift ....

arrived yesterday. A beautiful handmade bookmark. This is the gift I won in My Melange blogiversary giveaway.

In the first post we were invited to a party and had to tell her what we would be bringing to make it the party to remember.

Thank you soooo much Robin...it is beautiful...I read alot so it is a very welcome gift. The little card is very cute...

Today Tuesday 5th February is....

Shrove Tuesday...In the UK, Shrove Tuesday is also known as Pancake Day.

Pancakes are associated with Lent because the 40 days of Lent form a period of fasting, during which only the plainest foodstuffs may be eaten. Therefore, rich ingredients such as eggs, milk, and sugar are disposed of immediately prior to the start of the fast.

We also have a tradition called The Pancake Race..this is said to have originated in 1445, when a lady in Olney, Buckinghamshire was so busy making pancakes, that she forgot the time until she heard the church bells ringing for the service. She raced out of the house to church while still carrying her frying pan and pancake.

For all of you that have cooked pancakes, enjoy!!
